The narrower rule, inscribed “Warranted Boxwood Rabone Made in England,” carries the gentle arc of use, its brass folding joints still gleaming with soft golden warmth. The second, slightly broader, is marked “Boxwood Rabone Made in England No. 1167” and “2547”, its surfaces worn smooth by the touch of time and trade.
