Antique jewellery is any piece that is over 100 years old and is considered rare, precious, and full of historical significance due to its age. The jewellery from various eras is often distinguished by their unique styles and designs. The Georgian Era (1714-1837) featured handmade pieces with delicate nature-inspired designs and precious stones, which are scarce and valuable. The Early Victorian Romantic Era (1837-1850) introduced intricately designed silver and gold jewellery with colourful gemstones and lockets. The Middle Victorian Grand Era (1860-1880) saw dark and less colourful jewellery, while the Late Victorian Aesthetic Era (1885-1990) had star and crescent designs, renaissance revival lockets, and intricate seed pearl patterns. The Arts and Crafts Era (1894-1923) saw handmade and simplistic jewellery, with hammered metals and visible constructions. Art Nouveau Era (1895-1915) jewellery was inspired by nature and included new techniques like enamelling and semi-precious stones. The Edwardian Era (1901-1915) showcased extravagant jewellery with precious diamonds, rubies, and emeralds arranged in complex patterns. Art Deco (1915-1935) jewellery had angular and geometric designs with precisely cut stones.
