An impressive piece of Victorian-era jewellery, this substantial circa 1870 cameo brooch features the distinguished profile of King James II, beautifully moulded in pottery and framed in 15ct yellow gold.

The large oval cameo measures approximately 55 Ă— 47mm and is rim set within an elegant three-quarter wreath surround, finished with fine twisted wire detailing. The warm yellow gold contrasts beautifully with the matte pottery cameo, giving the piece wonderful character and presence.

Traditional brass pin and clip fittings remain to the reverse. At an impressive 26.93g, this is a substantial antique brooch with strong historical and collector appeal.
